The Mandrarossa Cartagho appears in the glass in an intense red with violet shades and unfolds a wonderful, fruity bouquet full of blackberries and sour cherries, accompanied by a hint of herbs, undergrowth and Mediterranean spices.
On the palate of the Cartagho, intense aromas of dark berries, plums, dates and Mediterranean pine with perfectly integrated wood notes are noticeable. The minerality of this varietal red wine is animating, the drinking flow excellent, the tannins silky and yet present.
Vinification of Mandrarossa Cartagho
The flat, south-western vineyards are located in Torrenova, Menfi near Agrigento. The vines grow 150 meters above sea level on sandy soils. After the 8-10-day mash fermentation at 22-25°C, this Mandrarossa wine from the Nero d 'Avola grape variety matures for 12 months in barrique barrels and then for a further 4 months in bottle.
