1 From 2

Already at the beginning of the 19th century, theChapoutier family , originally from France, dedicated itself to winemaking . Since then, the vineyards, located in the valleys of the Rhône, have been cherished by the family members. I

M. Chapoutier Winery - First make, then hope

This is the motto of the winemakers of the M. Chapoutier winery. And they have set themselves the highest goal: Finding the recipe for the perfect wine. To achieve this goal, an oenologist needs not only the necessary willpower and courage to take risks, but also a certain amount of luck. A very ambitious challenge, therefore, which the winemakers of M. Chapoutier face every day. In 1990, he took over Michel Chapoutier the winery from his parents. It is he who continues the success story and works constantly to establish the winery. In doing so, he also tries to make his own wine creations individual.

A true forge of character

Michel Chapoutier does not lack the necessary courage to create something new. He gives his wines a completely individual character through small experiments. On the vineyards are cultivated in particular native and pure grape varieties, such as

  • Grenache
  • Mourvedre
  • Syrah
  • Grenache Blanc
  • Roussanne
  • Ugni Blanc
  • Vermentino
  • Viognier

All efforts have paid off so far. The Chapoutier brand and its wine creations are particularly highly regarded by wine connoisseurs. Moreover, it is important to the winemaker that the products represent the flavorful wine diversity of the Rhône. Products such as the delicious red wine called Barbe Rac Châteauneuf du Pape, for example, meet this requirement. But the Rasteau Côtes du Rhône Villages or Belleruche Côtes du Rhône wines are also very popular among wine lovers.

Chapoutier is Biodynamic: tomorrow and the day after tomorrow

Michel Chapoutier wants to continue to meet his high standards in the future. Respect for nature plays a major role on the estate. For example, no pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used. Instead, the winery relies on biodynamic cultivation, which helps the Chapoutier wines to develop a unique character. Grape varieties such as Marsanne, Grenache or Syrah mature in constant harmony with nature. These wines form the basis for all the diverse products that are made in the family business. Because in the meantime, the vineyard's acreage is not only at home in France. Vines from Chapoutier also thrive in Australia and Portugal. A diversity that is certainly also an important reason why experienced wine critics such as Robert Parker praise the winery in high tones.
