Lis Neris is one of the most representative wineries of the Italian region of Friuli. 

Lis Neris - Passionate winery with a heart for nature

Located in the middle of the picturesque village of San Lorenzo, it brings the spirit of nature of this particular wine region into the bottle. The estate has been owned by the Pecorari family since 1879. From generation to generation, the dedication to winemaking and the sensitive preservation of the local terroirs have been passed down. Today, Alvaro Pecorari is the heart and soul of the winery, now in its fifth generation. He has led the winery into the modern age, always with the goal of a wine production focused on refined quality. The white wines of Lis Neris best show the typical balanced character of the region. The Lis Neris winery has already won numerous awards, including the gold medal at the Decanter World Wines Award 2008 and seven other awards from Gambero Rosso.

How and where do the vines of Lis Neris grow? 

70 hectares of vineyards, between the Slovenian border and the right bank of the Isonzo River, belong to the Lis Neris winery. Gravelly soils, the Mediterranean climate and the resulting high number of sunshine hours promise a balanced ripening of the grapes. Characteristic are also the dry and largely gusty Bora winds, which have a very favorable effect on the aromatic concentration in the grapes. Lis Neris specializes in the vinification of powerful varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. However, varieties typical of the region, such as Picol and Gris, are also grown. The wines are characterized by their particular balance and complexity.

Lis Neris is a frontrunner when it comes to placing value on wine production that works with nature. Although modern technology is also used at Lis N eris, nature is always treated with great respect. Chemical fertilizers are not used. And all varieties typical of the region are harvested here exclusively by hand. Not only the vines draw their good from the sun, but also the Lis Neris winery itself uses solar energy from solar panels.
