The Linie Aquavit appears in the glass in a light amber and presents its aroma combination of caraway, anise, orange peel and a touch of vanilla.
On the palate, it starts complex with harmonious caraway notes, which are rounded off by spices and dry fino sherry.
Production of the Linie Aquavit
The Linie Aquavit is distilled according to a traditional Norwegian recipe and matures for 16 months in oak barrels, which were previously used as sherry casks. This gives this aquavit its particularly round and smooth character.
To this day, each Linie Aquavit barrel travels 4 of the total 16 months of maturation at sea to Australia and back, crossing the equator twice. The different temperature zones, the changing humidity, the wild sea breeze and the constant movement during the sea voyage give it its unique and unmistakable character.
Serving recommendation for Linie Aquavit
Serve this aquavit at room temperature or slightly chilled. Enjoy it neat, in combination with a beer as a "Viking place setting" or even as a long drink.
