The deep red colour of the Montes Twins Red Blend is reminiscent of a vibrantly sparkling ruby with violet shimmer. In addition to intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as blackberries, dark plums and black currants, sweet spices (baking aromas) and caramel spread in the background in the fruity nose. The bouquet is lined with delicate notes of barrique maturity such as oak, tobacco leaf, fresh coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate.
On the palate, this Chilean red wine is extremely soft, round and smooth, but at the same time powerful, structured and full-bodied. The juicy fruit of the bouquet flatters the palate with the tangible yet gently ripened tannin. This red wine flows with elegance and balance into a long reverberation that expresses the balance of strength and melting, vibrant fruit, tannin and delicately integrated oak wood.
Vinification of the Red Blend Montes Twins
This red wine is vinified from Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Syrah (30%), Carménère (25%) and Tempranillo (10%) grape varieties.
The grapes for the Montes Twins Red Blend come from vineyards in the Apalta and Marchigue regions. Once the grapes have reached their optimum ripeness, they are carefully picked by hand, strictly sorted and traditionally fermented on the mash under controlled temperature conditions. After fermentation, about 50% of the wines are stored in French oak barriques for twelve months. Finally, you marry all batches to make this wonderful red wine and pour it on the bottles.
Food recommendation for the Montes Twins
Enjoy this dry red wine from Chile with juicy grilled chops, steak and entrecote to roast beef and lamb leg with herbs. However, this red wine also harmonizes with spicy (oriental-style) meat stews, meatless oven dishes with many herbs and pasta with gently braised tomato sauce.
