Domaine Lafage's Lieu Dit Narassa comes into the glass with dense crimson and reveals a bouquet of dark berries such as blackberries and fully ripe raspberries. Juicy and dried plums also come to mind. Furthermore, dried herbs such as thyme and some lavender as well as earthy notes, chocolate, some cinnamon and cedar wood and also pepper and black olives complement the bouquet of this red wine.
On the palate, this French red wine is very full-bodied, powerful and velvety-silky. The vital fruit acid keeps the opulent aromas in balance and makes the Narassa of Lafage an elegant palate flatter despite its opulence. The reverberation shows a lot of fruit, paired with minerality and spiciness.
Vinification of Lafage Narassa
The Lieu Dit Narassa of Lafage originates in particularly ancient Grenache and Syrah grapes. These are deeply rooted in the brown weathered slate soils around Maury along the southern slopes of the Massif des Corbières.
After the particularly delicate selection of the grapes, they are pressed and mashed for the Narassa in the Lafage winery. After temperature-controlled fermentation, this wine is aged in concrete tanks and 20% in Demi-Muids, barrels with a capacity of approx. 650 litres.
Food recommendation for Lieu Dit Narassa
This dry red wine from France is a wonderful winter wine, but it also makes a perfect figure in the summer time, slightly chilled, especially with grilled beef or lamb.
