More information about Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs - Weingut A. Christmann

With the winery A. Christmann Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs comes a first-class organic red wine in the swirled glass. It presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out on the walls of the glass in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like way. This single varietal German wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries and plums in the glass. This is joined by hints of pepper.

The Weingut A. Christmann Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs presents itself to the wine enthusiast wonderfully dry. This red wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine icon wine segment. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine presents itself wonderfully dense. The finale of this red wine with good aging potential from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate, more precisely from Königsbach, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by sandstone and limestone.

Vinification of the winery A. Christmann Königsbacher Ölberg Pinot Noir Erstes Gewächs

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Weingut A. Christmann, only the best grape material was brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone, sandstone and marl. Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. Once perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the organically produced Königsbacher Ölberg Spätburgunder Erstes Gewächs is aged for several months in oak barriques.
