in 1983, the Klumpp Winery was founded by Ulrich Klumpp and his wife Marietta in Bruchsal.
German wines from Klumpp Winery
Bruchsal is located between Heidelberg and Karlsruhe and thus in the middle of North Baden. Here there was a small wine-growing farm with 1.2 hectares of cultivated land, on which Ulrich Klumpp grew up and discovered his love of winemaking. Consequently, he gradually acquired even more winegrowing land and founded the Klumpp winery with his wife Marietta in 1983 on 4.5 hectares of land. Little by little, the area under cultivation increased, so that today the winery can proudly look back on 25 hectares of ecological cultivation, for which the winery received the Area Honor Award for the Kraichgau in 1997 and 1998 and the District Environmental Award in 2002.
The cohesion of the brothers
For the two brothers Andi and Markus, inspiration counts more than tradition. Their story is fresh, young and has a lot of excitement in it. They want to write a new chapter for the Klumpp Winery and, in doing so, put the focus on an underestimated winegrowing region: Kraichgau.
The wine region Kraichgau
Kraichgau belongs to a rather unknown - and yet most beautiful - landscape in Germany. There are steep slopes, gentle hills - and yet very underrated in terms of viticulture. But Andi and Markus Klumpp are curious and explorers. They use the potential that Kraichgau offers them.
Organic by conviction
The Klumpp winery has been certified for organic cultivation since 1996 and is a member of EcoVin. The philosophy behind organic cultivation is lived, respect shown for nature and its resources.
Great wines from Klumpp
On offer are rosé wines, white wines and red wines made from traditional grapes such as
Pinot Gris
Riesling or
Pinot Noir
as well as the special line "Old Vines" where one offers for example a Pinot Noir from old cultivation. The oldest vine is the Auxerrois from 1965. All wines are classified into sites according to the French model, so that the wine decision is no longer so difficult.
