Justina Bobal from Bodega De Moya in the D.O. Valencia is vinified from the Spanish Bobal grape variety in combination with Syrah. This red wine is a tribute to his youngest daughter Justina.
This creates a full-bodied, fruity cuvée, which is presented in the glass in a deep dark ruby red. The rich aroma in the nose ranges from ripe red fruits, to prunes and raisins to dried figs, walnuts and vanilla, the more this wine unfolds its bouquet. On the palate, this Spanish wine comes full-bodied and fresh, the ripe fruit notes and hints of roasted aromas combine with the well-integrated tannins to create a long, soft finish.
Vinification of De Moya Justina Bobal
This Spanish red wine is a cuvée of 90% Bobal and 10% Syrah of the estate's vines of Bodega De Moya in the mountains behind Valencia, not far from the Spanish Mediterranean coast. The grapes on the 40-hectare vineyard are grown in a yield-reduced manner and selectively hand-picked. After the temperature-controlled mash fermentation, Justina Bobal is aged for another 4 months in American and French oak barrels before this wine is pulled onto the bottle.
Food pairings for Justina Bobal from Bodega de Moya
This tasty, fruity Spanish red wine is a perfect accompaniment to pasta with meat sauces, lasagna, poultry, meat with sauces and grilled meats. Also drunk solo, this dry red wine is a delight.
