The Julia Monastrell from Bodega De Moya is a full-bodied, grape-varietal wine from the Valencia region. This red wine is dedicated to his mother-in-law Julia.
In the glass, this wine shines in a clear ruby red with light red reflections. The bouquet reveals a multi-layered, multi-faceted aroma: juicy blackberry and raspberry meets ripe currant with gentle hints of roasted notes. The aromas of the nose of elderberry and cedar are underlined. The fresh acidity on the palate harmonizes wonderfully with the berry, woody variety of aromas and the round, structured body. The finale impresses with its wonderful length.
Vinification of Julia Monastrell De Moya
The Monastrell grapes for this red wine come from 60-year-old vines in the vineyards of Vall d-Albaida and are carefully picked by hand. The crop is already harvested in the vineyard and harvested in 15 kg boxes.
At 4 degrees Celsius, the grapes are cooled for 24 hours before the mash begins in 1000 liters of wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. The fermentation process and maceration of this wine are about 26 to 34 days. The pomace hat is dipped regularly. The wood ageing of this Spanish red wine takes place in selected, new French oak barriques for a total of 18 months.
Food recommendation for Bodega De Moya Julia Monastrell
Enjoy this dry red wine from Spain with dishes of Asian cuisine or Italian classics, such as homemade pizza with spicy salami or spaghetti bolognese. We recommend decanting this wine.
