Origin of the Sauvignon Blanc Hole in the Water by Konrad Wines
The vineyards for this wonderful Sauvignon Blanc are located in the famous Marlborough growing region in New Zealand. This is probably the best known growing region for this grape variety. The Hole in The Water thus matures in the region with the longest sunshine duration of all cultivation areas in New Zealand. A glacier left behind a nutrient-rich clay-limestone soil. The remaining boulders reflect the intense sunlight, give off your warmth for a long time and in the evening the fresh Pacific air enters the valley. This is the natural and best basis for Winemaker Jeff Sinnott to create a top product.
The name of the Hole in The Water comes from its origins, the Waihopai Valley. Waihopai means "hole in the water" on Maori. Due to the very low rainfall in this valley Konrad Wines succeeds in a unique Sauvigon Blanc. The grapes of Hole in the Water thrive on very sandy rocky soil with some clay. This soil drains (washes out) very well and thus provides the vines with many minerals.
Taste of Hole in the Water Sauvignon Blanc
The Hole in the water Sauvignon Blanc by Konrad Wines is pale yellow in the glass with green reflections and seduces with the tempting bouquet of fresh grass, gooseberries and a hint of elderflowers. This white wine from New Zealand (Waihopai Valley) is juicy on the palate with subtle aromas of citrus and guava. The finale of this Sauvignon Blanc is fresh and lively. The Hole in the water Sauvignon Blanc is also a wonderful evening companion.
