The St. Magdalene Alto Adige DOC by Cantina Terlan is revealed in the glass in a strong ruby red. The bouquet of this red wine flatters the nose with the aromas of elderberries and cherries. Fine nuances of bitter almonds and violets can be seen in the background. This fruity wine is soft and elegant on the palate with a balanced acidity structure. The low tannin content is due to Vernatsch.
Vinification of the St. Magdalene Alto Adige DOC of Cantina Terlan
85% of this cuvée is vinified from Vernatsch and 15% from Lagrein. The grapes used originate from the location Häuslerhof near Bolzano, formerly this wine was also marketed with the addition of the name "Häuslerhof" or "Häusler". Meanwhile, this nickname is not used, but nothing has changed in the wine
. Thegrapes harvested by hand are destemmed and then fermented on the mash at a controlled temperature. This takes place slowly and with gentle movement of the mash in stainless steel tanks. The biological acid degradation and maturation takes place in large wooden barrels.
