More information about Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru AOP - Domaine Ponsot
The barrel-aged Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru from the Burgundy wine-growing region presents a bright light red color in the glass. At the edges also shows a color transition to garnet red. This varietal French wine presents in the glass wonderfully expressive notes of strawberries and sour cherries. This is joined by hints of vanilla and nutmeg.
On the palate, Domaine Ponsot's Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru opens delightfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. In the finish, this excellent storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy finally inspires with exceptional length. Again, hints of sour cherry and strawberry show.
Vinification of the Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Ponsot
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced varietal wine from Domaine Ponsot. After the hand harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the elegant Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
