More information

The Gries Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC by Cantina Terlan shimmers in the glass in a strong ruby to garnet red with delicate violet shades. The bouquet reveals earthy-mineral nuances that blend beautifully with the fruity nuances of sour cherries and plum jam. On the palate, the spicy, almost peaty notes in combination with the velvety fruit notes create a pleasant tension, at the same time soft and round, with a full body and rich in aromas, so that this Lagrein Riserva offers an extremely complex taste with a multi-layered fullness

Vinification for the Gries Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC by Cantina Lagrein

The grapes for this red wine grow in the Gries area of THE DOC South Tyrol. Harvesting and selection is done manually. The grapes are destemmed and then fermented slowly at a controlled temperature and with gentle movement of the must in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing over 12 months takes place 50% in large oak barrels and 50% in barriques. For the expansion in barriques, a third new barrels are used. Three months before bottling, the cuvée is made from the two wines

Food recommendation for the Gries Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC

Enjoy this aromatic dry red wine from South Tyrol with veal pastries or roasted, dark meat in spicy sauces, fallow deer with root vegetables.
