More information about Grauer Burgunder Fundament - Weingut Wageck Pfaffmann
The barrel-aged Pinot Gris Foundation from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate presents itself in the glass in bright copper gold. The bouquet of this white wine from the Palatinate convinces with nuances of ripe apple and pear. If we trace the aromatics further, come mineral.
The Wageck Pfaffmann Grauer Burgunder Fundament wows with its elegantly dry flavor. It was brought to the bottle with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly light texture. In the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally inspires with good length. Again, hints of pear and ripe apple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and limestone join in.
Vinification of the Wageck Pfaffmann Estate Pinot Gris Foundation
The balanced Grauer Burgunder Fundament from Germany is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Grauburgunder grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone, clay and marl. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
