The MP Grauburgunder from Markus Pfaffmann from the Palatinate shows a brilliant, copper-gold colour in the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from the Palatinate enchants with hints of papaya, black cherry, plum and apricot. If we trace the aromatics further, lovage, forest floor and sun-warmed rock come into play
This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavors. It was bottled with only 6.9 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. Light-footed and complex, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its present fruit acidity, the MP Grauburgunder is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, there are hints of apricot and peach.
Vinification of the Markus Pfaffmann MP Grauburgunder
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Grauburgunder. Only flawless grapes were harvested for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Markus Pfaffmann. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the MP Grauburgunder are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the MP Grauburgunder can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
