More information about Grauburgunder trocken - Ökonomierat Rebholz

The Pinot Gris from the pen of Ökonomierat Rebholz from the Palatinate shows a bright, copper-gold color in the swirled glass. If one gives it a little air in the wine glass by swirling, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like manner. The first nose of Pinot Gris presents nuances of ripe apple, dried apricot and pears. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.

This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a premium and site wine segment, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. Balanced and multilayered, this dense white wine presents itself on the palate. The final of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally captivates with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and clay.

Vinification of the Ökonomierat Rebholz Pinot Gris

The basis for the balanced Pinot Gris from the Palatinate are grapes from the grape variety Pinot Gris. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam and loess. Pinot Gris is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the grapes are harvested, they immediately enter the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for Ökonomierat Rebholz Pinot Gris

This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek tortilla, coconut-lime fish curry or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
