The Grandarella by Masi Agricola is intensely dark red in the glass. A bouquet of aromatic and dried herbs and vanilla unfolds on the nose, complemented by fruity hints of red fruits. On the palate, it is body-rich, complex and balanced, with noticeable notes of blueberries, plums, cinnamon and spices. In the finish, this Italian red wine finishes with a dry and juicy fruity finish.
Vinification of Grandarella by Masi Agricola
The name Grandarella already refers to the special production method of this wine: grano =grape berry and arella, the traditional drying device for the grapes. The red wine Grandarella is vinified from the indigenous grape variety Refosco from the Veneto and Friuli regions in Italy using the Appassimento method. The air drying of the grapes results in a higher concentration of the must and the wine becomes more complex, denser and heavier.
Food recommendation for the Masi Grandarella This intense
red wine from northern Italy goes well with dishes with red meat, grilled or fried, with game of all kinds and with tasty and spicy cheeses, or I like to go solo at the end of a meal.
