From the Spanish region of Valencia comes the varietal Gloria Monastrell from Bodega De Moya. Winemaker Yves Laurijssens dedicates every red wine to a woman from his family. But who Gloria is remains Yve's secret at the moment.
In a dense cherry red with ruby red highlights, this wine shines in the glass. The strong bouquet is characterized by the typical aromas of the grape variety. Ripe blackberry and currant merge with notes of rhubarb and roasted aromas. The fresh acidity is perfectly integrated and harmonizes wonderfully with the elegant tannin structure. The final of this Spanish red wine impresses with its pleasant length and presence.
Vinification of Gloria Monastrell De Moya
The grapes for this red wine come from 40-year-old vines in the Vall d 'Albaida region. The harvested crop is already selected in the vineyard and harvested in 15 kg boxes.
Once the harvested material has arrived in the wine cellar of De Moya, we cool it for 24 hours at 4 degrees Celsius. The mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After a complete fermentation process and maceration of 20 to 25 days, this red wine is aged in wood for 12 months. Both barriques (225 l) and large French oak barrels (1000 l) are used for this purpose.
Food recommendation for the Bodega De Moya Gloria Monastrell
This dry red wine from Spain with dishes is a great companion to cozy barbecues with the family and friends. But this wine is also a real treat for Asian cuisine and Italian classics, such as pizza and pasta.
