Gigondas AOC 2019 - M. Chapoutier
Prices incl. VAT plus shipping costs
The Gigondas AOC by M. Chapoutier from the Gigondas wine area in the wine region of the Rhone Valley, is already a pleasure in the glass: ruby to violett red color, on the nose unfolds a bouquet of complex, fruity spicy aromas, with hints of sweet red and black berries, dry flowers and incense. It dominates the Grenache grape over all other grape varieties. On the palate, this exceptional French red wine is elegant, fine, medium heavy body, sweet tannins and a grand finale with a long, supple finish.
Vinification of the Gigondas AOC by M. Chapoutier
The vineyard area of Gigondas is located in the southern Rhone valley, the soils are loamy, with marl, sand and lime. The slopes are up to 400 m high and are surrounded by cool winds. The Grenache grapes find the best conditions for maturity here. The Gigondas of Michel Chapoutier is vinified from Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the Grenache grape being the mayor one. After the selective harvest, the ripe grapes are pressed and fermentation takes place traditionally at a controlled temperature, whith daily remontage. A portion of the wine matures in oak barrels, the other part in stainless steel tanks, after 12 to 16 months it is ready and the cuvée is blended.
Food pairing for the Gigondas AOC by M. Chapoutier
The full-bodied Gigondas is an ideal accompaniment to meat, poultry and game, stewed or roasted, and to ripe cheese and tipical French red smear cheese.
