More information about Gevrey-Chambertin AOP - Domaine Chanson
In the glass, the Gevrey-Chambertin of Domaine Chanson shows a bright light red color. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it does not stand out on the glass walls watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Domaine Chanson red wine reveals all manner of sour cherries, strawberries and raspberries. As if that were not already impressive, vanilla and tobacco join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine icon wine segment, this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. Balanced and complex, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this youthful wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region finally thrills with considerable length. Again, hints of strawberry and sour cherry appear.
Vinification of the Domaine Chanson Gevrey-Chambertin
The balanced Gevrey-Chambertin from France is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Gevrey-Chambertin is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the grape harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the elegant Gevrey-Chambertin is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
