Gérard Fiou - mineral and long-lived wines from Sancerre
Domaine Gérard Fiou is located right in the center of the region, in the town of Sancerre. This small town is situated on a hill not far from the Loire River and is visible from far away. The town is only 40 km away from Bourges and Nevers and is famous for its cheese and wine. The town gives its name to one of the most famous white wines of the Loire region - Sancerre.
The Gérard Fiou estate has been in the family for several generations, but in the absence of a successor, Gérard Fiou decided in 2005 to hand over his estate to the friendly Bourgeois family. However, they did not integrate the winery into their own, but left it in its independence. The sites of Gérard Fiou are among the best in the area, especially the pebble, and flint soils provide the typical mineral and long-lived character of the wines in Sancerre.
