For Gérard Bertrand, preserving the ecological balance and, above all, sustainable viticulture are the most important challenges of our time.
Winery Gérard Bertrand - simple and ecological
The fact that wines from organically grown grapes are also convincing in terms of taste is demonstrated by his new organic wine line Biobon: Organic wines with the usual Gérard Bertrand quality statement, which, as a special bonus, so to speak, are ecologically certified (French organic label AB Ecocert) and come in environmentally friendly equipment (ProCork3 corks, labels made of recycled paper, packaging made of untreated cardboard) in the trade.
Gérard Bertrand wines are produced sustainably
Accompanying his commitment to sustainable viticulture, Bertrand, as one of the most important producers in Languedoc-Roussillon, is also committed to the young AOC Languedoc (appellation status since the end of 2007), which stretches across the southern French wine-growing regions from Nîmes down to the eastern Pyrenees. In order to anchor strong brands here, the "Origine Languedoc" brand club was founded, in which Gerard Bertrand joins forces with major producers such as Jeanjean, Foncalieu, Val d'Orbieu, Castel, the Vignerons Catalans or Skalli to promote the new AOC.
Châteux and estates
With 16 châteux and estates now in the best locations in the south of France, Bertrand has become an ambassador for the great wines of the Languedoc. Over 850 hectares of vineyards are managed by the Gérard Bertrand Group.

Among others, the following grape varieties are cultivated by the Gérard Bertrand winery:
