The Fuerza of Ego Bodegas reveals in the glass a strong cherry red color with violet hues. The bouquet is characterized by delicate black fruit aromas with intense toasty and smoky characteristics. Blackberries, juicy blueberries and some granberry come to mind in particular.
On the well-structured and full-bodied palate of the Ego Bodegas Fuerza, the ripe, deliciously sweet tannins that give the wine elegance and sophistication are particularly appealing.
Vinification of the Fuerza Jumilla by Ego Bodegas
Ego Bodgeas' Fuerza is 75% Monastrell and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes for the wine come from Ego Bodegas' own vineyards as well as from contract winemakers in the region. On 25 hectares, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pedit Verdot grow in addition to Monastrell, which sets the tone. The climate is predominantly continental, influenced by Mediterranean winds and winter precipitation. More than 3000 hours of sunshine can be counted per year, with no more than 300 liters of water falling as rainfall. The vines are kept in gobelet training, which is typical of the region and prevents excessive evaporation by minimizing plant surface.
Harvesting is done by hand and in small boxes so that the grape material reaches the winery undamaged. After the gentle harvest, the Monastrell as well as the Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented separately in large, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 18 to 20 days with the grape skins and seeds to achieve maximum extraction of aroma and color. Afterwards, the Ego Bodegas Fuerza is aged in barriques for 12 months, allowing it to harmonize.
