More information about Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon - Cederberg

The Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon from Cederberg of the Western Cape offers a dense crimson color in the swirled glass. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Cederberg offers aromas of plum and black currant, complemented by cedar. This South African wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine Icon wine segment, this South African naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, the texture of this punchy red wine is wonderfully dense. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape, which has good aging potential, finally impresses with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon from Cederberg

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon. For this wonderfully powerful single varietal wine from Cederberg, only top quality grapes were harvested. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

Food recommendation for the Cederberg Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon

This red wine from South Africa is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, ossobuco or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
