Eugenio Collavini is a successful family business and has been writing its history since 1896.
At home in top gastronomy
In the beginning it was just a company with the mission to supply regional noble families north of the Italian Adriatic. During the dark years of the two world wars, it was run by the son of the founder, Giovanni, before passing to Manilo Collavini in the 1960s. Collavini, by means of a restructuring and a new oenological orientation, brought the winery into the league of top quality wines. He was the one who again focused on the fermentation of Pinot Grigio without skins. This was to give rise to the successful spumante 'il Grigio', which was so important for the Eugenio Collavini winery because it was instrumental in paving the way to Italy's top gastronomy. It was also Manilo who moved the headquarters and winery to Corno di Rosazzo. Here he found the Castello of the noble family Zucco-Cuccanea, built in 1560, in a favorable location.
The grape varieties at Eugenio Collavini
The Eugenio Collavini winery cultivates 160 hectares of vines. The winemakers strive to produce the highest quality wines typical of the region. This is also expressed in the selection of varieties and the ratio of white wine to red wine varieties. The location in the southern foothills of the Alps as well as the fertile alluvial soils with loess/clay content are optimal for the grapes grown by the winery White wine varieties
Pinot Grigio
Sauvignon Blanc
Chardonnay
Picolit

Red wine varieties:
Cabernet

Refosco dal Piduncolo
The remaining 14 percent is used for sparkling wine production at Eugenio Collavini.
Red wines are also perfectly balanced here
Even though the region is known for its white wines, the Eugenio Collavini winery proves that, with an appropriate selection of varieties and the right cultivation and aging, red wines with great density and balanced tannin structure can also be produced here.
