Facts about growing and expanding the Etichetta Grigia Vermentino Colli di Luni DOC
Lunae vineyards cover 45 hectares in the Colli di Luni region, in the municipalities of Castelnuovo Magra and Ortonovo. The Apuan Alps protect the vineyards from cold north winds, while the sea ensures good air circulation and remarkably balanced temperatures. The composition of the soils is geologically very varied. In the mountains and foothills, rich skeletal soils of medium texture dominate. On the other hand, the plains are based on clay and silt floors. The vines are cultivated in the Guyot system, with 4000 vines per hectare. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and crushed and mashed. After a short mashing life, the must is pressed off and fermented in steel tanks under temperature control with pure yeasts. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in steel tanks before being bottled.
