Vinification of the Escherndorfer Lump Pinot Noir by Weingut Zur Schwane
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only first-class grape material was harvested for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Weingut Zur Schwane. In Franconia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant Escherndorfer Lump Pinot Noir is aged for several months in oak barrels.
