More information

The Dry White from Niepoort is a dry white port that presents itself in a wonderfully golden color. The distinctive and powerful bouquet combines fresh aromas of citrus fruits and yellow stone fruit with nuances of nuts and almonds that continue on the palate

With its well-structured body and a harmonious taste of dried fruits, this port wine fills the palate. The long finish convinces with freshness and concentration, thanks to the maturity in oak barrels. Not surprisingly: despite the name "Dry White", this port is not really dry, but rather semi-dry with a residual sugar content of 43.4 g/l.

Vinification of Dry White by Niepoort

hand-picked grapes are destemmed, ground and left on the mash for a longer period of time. Meanwhile, they are pressed gently with their feet at times according to traditional methods. The mash fermentation takes place almost to dryness and is finally gently ended by the addition of spirits. Now the Dry White from Niepoort matures for another 3.5 years in small oak barrels in the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia before this port is filled onto the bottle.

Food recommendation for the Dry White Niepoort Port

This dry port wine tastes great as an aperitif or served as a long drink with tonic, lemon zest and ice cubes.
