The roots of Domaines Jean Michel Cazes are in Bordelaise, more precisely in the Medoc.
Domaines Cazes - All beginning in Bordelaise
The first wineries acquired by Jean Michel in the 1930s were Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac and Château Les Ormes-de-Pez in Saint-Èstephe. Since the first acquisitions, other estates have been added in Bordelaise, but also in Châteauneuf du Pape. The portfolio of premium wineries has also expanded outside the borders of the Grande Nation - wine is now also produced in Australia and in the Douro Valley by Jean Michel Cazes.
Eight wineries - One credo
In addition to the wineries mentioned at the beginning, the portfolio also includes...
- Château Cordeillan-Bages in Pauillac
- ChâteauVilla Bel-Air in the Graves region
- Domaine L'Ostal Cazes in the appelation Minervois La Livinière
- Domaine des Sénéchaux in Châteauneuf du Pape
- Xisto Roquette E Cazes in collaboration with Jorge Roquette of Quinta do Crasto in the Douro Valley in Portugal
- Tapanappa in Wrattonbully Australia, which is a collaboration between the Bollinger family and Australian winemaker Brian Croser
... among the wineries in which Jean Michel Cazes has a significant stake or which are owned by him. But as different as the terroirs of the Domaines Jean Michel Cazes wineries are, they all have one thing in common - Jean Michel Cazes' invariably high standards and aspirations.
