The history of Domaine Yvon et Pascal Tabordet began in 1981.
Harmony and quality for wine and man at Domaine Tabordet
The brothers Pascal and YvonTabordettook over the farm in Verdigny with a size of three hectares and already six years later the cultivation area was extended to the other side of the Loire. The siblings specialized early on in mechanized harvesting and production of the wines. Fortunately, this did not result in a loss of quality. Pascal and Yvon married sisters Anne-Marie and Marie-Laure, thus expanding the family to a traditional winery, which was then taken over by sons Marius and Gaël in 2008. In addition to the two successors, Pascal is still involved in the production of the wines, Yvon is already enjoying his retirement. An important philosophy of the Domaine, in addition to the pursuit of the best quality wines, is the pursuit of the best harmony of all employees in the Domaine Yvon et Pascal Tabordet. There are always two full-time employees working on the production, as well as seasonal employees who help with the care of the vines, harvesting and selection.
Smoked products from the Vale de Loire - Domaine Tabordet
In addition to the regional classic white wines, Domaine Tabordet 's range also includes red wines, rosé wines and cuvées from the Puilly Fumé and Sancerre growing regions. Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre are among the most famous areas for white wine in the Val de Loire region, and their different soil characteristics allow for the unique and characteristic taste of the wines. The Pouilly Fumé, produced on a twelve-hectare vineyard on the right bank of the Loire, is the flagship of the Domaine. It is made from Sauvignon Blanc vines that grow on clayey limestone soils called " argiles à silex". This soil is characterized by its flint content, which gives the wines a smoky note and explains the "fumé"(smoked) in the name of the terroir. On the left bank, vines for Sancerre Rouge, Blanc and Rosé thrive on an area of 4.5 hectares. This calcareous clay soil is distinguished by a high content of white stones, which heat the soil with their light color. Thanks to this composition, the wines are extremely clear and defined in taste.
These are the grape varieties of Domaine Tabordet:
