Louis Michel, his son Jean-Loup and his nephew Guillaume, all pay due respect to their wines through fine restraint with wood. More than forty years ago, Louis Michel had banned all wooden barrels from his cellar and thus became a pioneer of pure aging in stainless steel tanks. His successors have remained true to this maxim. Louis' grandson Guillaume Cicqueau-Michel, who now runs the Domaine Louis Michel et Fils, also prepares this Chardonnay in pure culture.
