Domaine de la Foliette - Muscadet from the Loire Valley
Domaine de la Foliette is located in the Loire Valley on the west coast of France. This region near the city of Nantes has been appreciated as a wine-growing area since very early in history. This is evidenced, among other things, by a document from 1635, which was found here and proves the exchange of plots planted with white wine.
Since the estate was founded in 1996, Denis Brosseau and Eric Vincent have worked together successfully to produce Muscadet wines that have enthusiastic followers from Europe to the United States and Japan. The entrepreneurs are committed to the Terra Vitis agreement: they consciously reduce their yields, select the ripe grapes in the vineyard and work in a sustainable way with great respect for our environment. All processing steps take place in-house.
Denis and Eric own 40 hectares of vineyards. These are distributed among the villages of Haye-Fouassière, Haute-Goulaine and Vertou. The local (mica) slate soils, amphibolite and orthogneiss soils give the Foliette wines an uncomplicated freshness and fruitiness.
