Destilerias Unidas

Hacienda Botucal, located on the extensive company grounds of Destilerias Unidas in Venezuela, on the edge of the Natioanlpark Terepaima at the foot of the Andes , is the namesake for this rum brand. The farm is dedicated to agricultural projects and since the beginning has operated a renowned buffalo breeding, a selected breeding of a native breed of cattle, as well as a breeding of award-winning Venezuelan horses.
Rum production is in the hands of the master distillers at the DUSA Distillery, founded in 1959 at . Here they focus on the traditional production of rum based on molasses and Virgin Cane Honey. After distillation in copper stills, the rums are finally stored in former bourbon barrels made of American white oak. The entire production has been under the supervision of award-winning Master Distiller Tito Cordero since 1988.

In addition to the well-known Botucal Matuano, Botucal Reserva Exclusiva, successor to the legendary Diplomatico, the white rum Botucal Planas, as well as the Single Vintage and the Ambassador Selection, the range has expanded to include two more rums, the Distillers Selections 1 and 2.
