More information about Rótulo Dao DOC 1,5 l Magnum - Niepoort

The enormously concentrated red color of the Dao Rótulo by Niepoort - Quinta da Lomba is reminiscent of a radiant ruby.

An elegant, subtly floral aroma with notes of wild berries and menthol fills the nose. On the palate, this Portuguese red wine is wonderfully lively with a nice acidity and a delightful array of red berry flavors. Despite its voluminous nature, this wine is not heavy and finishes in an aromatic, long and well balanced finish.

Vinification of the Niepoort Dao Rótulo Tinto Magnum Quinta da Lomba

Dao Rótulo is produced from autochthonous Portuguese grape varieties (Alfrocheiro Preto, Jaén and Touriga Nacional) of the Dao wine region. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, that is, when the grapes have high acidity levels and a balanced sugar level. After careful selection, the grapes are completely destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. This wine is then aged for 12 months in cement tanks before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Food recommendation for the Magnum Dao Rótulo Tinto from Niepoort

Enjoy this dry red wine from Portugal with traditional Portuguese dishes such as chouriço (raw sausage), oven-baked cod, arroz de pato (duck rice) and braised veal.
