More information about Culinaria Grand Vin - Leopard's Leap

The Leopard's Leap Culinaria Grand Vin from the Western Cape shows a bright ruby red color in the wine glass. To the nose, this Leopard's Leap red wine reveals all manner of black currants and raspberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, cedar and tobacco join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.

On the palate, the Culinaria Grand Vin from Leopard's Leap starts out wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Culinaria Grand Vin flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking freshness at the same time. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally thrills with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Culinaria Grand Vin from Leopard's Leap

This balanced red wine from South Africa is cuvéed from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. After harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 16 months of aging in French oak barriques.
