The Coudoulet de Beaucastel Côtes-du-Rhône by Perrin & Fils glows with a dark ruby red to violet colour. An intense scent of red and black fruits, thyme as well as earthy, peppery and smoky nuances characterize the nose. On the palate, it is well-balanced but full of ripe fruit and spicy notes. Velvety soft tannins in a long-lasting finish underline its perfect structure.
Vinification/ production of the Coudoulet de Beaucastel
The Coudoulet de Beaucastel of the Perrin brothers and their sons shows what lies in the vines of the Rhône valley. The winery, which has been working biodynamically since 1964, relies on manual harvesting and gentle processing. The maceration runs for 48 hours in the classic concrete vat, for the maturation different parts are stored in wooden barrels for half a year. The Coudoulet de Beaucastel Côtes-du-Rhône is made up of the Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault varieties.
Tasting notes/ degustation of the Coudoulet de Beaucastel
The cuvée of the southern Rhône of Perrin & Fils shines in a vivid, concentrated dark ruby red to purple colour of great depth. The nose is characterized by an intense and subtle fragrance of black fruits such as blackberry and cherry and thyme as well as light wood and vanilla aromas.
On the palate it is full-bodied, lush, juicy, balanced, soft and ripe with complex aromas of berries, plums and liquorice. Velvety, perfectly matured tannins and a wonderful structure support the palate, which finishes with a beautiful long finish.
