The Costamìole Barbera d 'Asti Superiore Nice DOCG by Prunotto is a magnificent cru from Piedmont. In the glass, the Costamìole Barbera shines in deep dark garnet and ruby red with violet and black reflections. A rich, fruity bouquet unfolds on the nose, especially with aromas of plum and cherry, scents of violet, cinnamon, cocoa and leather. On the palate, the Costamìole is captivating, attractively dense and rich in soft, but well-structured, complex tannins. The finish is long, full of spice and sustainability.

Vinification of the Costamìole Barbera d 'Asti Superiore Nice DOCG by Prunotto

In the area of Agliano, about 19 km from Asti, between Nice Monferrato and Tiglione, there are 27 hectares of vineyard with Barbera d 'Asti, for the wines Costamìole and Fiulot. The climate is somewhat warmer than in the Alba region, but in some places the soils are similar in composition to the marl soils of Barolo. This vineyard produces fresh and young wines, but also wines with aging potential. Grape varieties typical for the Barbera of Costamìole are fragrances of ripe cherries, plums, blackberries and raspberries, as well as the garnet red color.
After destemming and pressing, the grapes are macerated in a temperature-controlled manner on the skins, which are stirred three times a day to obtain a higher extraction. The ageing in French oak barriques over 18 months is followed by a further 18 months of bottle ageing.

The Costamìole Barbera d 'Asti Superiore Nice can be stored for at least 13 years.
