More information

The Collezione Cinquanta Vino Rosso d 'Italia by Cantine San Marzano in Puglia pays homage to the vision and passion of the winemakers who founded the award-winning wine cooperative over 50 years ago to promote the region's excellent indigenous grape varieties and produce expressive and sustainable wines from them.

The Collezione Cinquanta by Cantine San Marzano shines ruby red in the glass with purple reflections. The bouquet is intense and complex, with fruity notes of plum and jam, as well as spicy aromas of vanilla and liquorice. On the palate, this powerful red wine presents itself flavour-intensive, of great structure and incredibly soft. Long and persistent finish.

Vinification of San Marzano Collezione Cinquanta Vino Rosso d 'Italia

Typical, indigenous grape varieties from the wine-growing region of Salento in Puglia are vinified together for this impressive red wine from southern Italy. The vines are without exception at least 50 years old, grow on skeletal, not very deep, medium-heavy clay marl soils, in summer with sometimes quite warm climatic periods with high moisture loss, at about 100m a.s.l. The grapes are harvested manually in September, if they have already reached a slight overripening. After destemming and cold maceration before fermentation, the alcoholic fermentation and the gentle pressing and discharge of the wine follow. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing over a period of about 12 months take place in barriques made of high-quality French oak

This red wine is characterized by the fact that it can retain its organoleptic properties, bouquet and taste unchanged for 7 years.

Enjoy this exquisite Italian red wine from the Cantine San Marzano in Puglia with dishes with red meat, game dishes, pasta with flavour-intensive sauces. Or as a meditation wine, to end a beautiful evening, alone or in a round with good friends.
