More information about Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan AOC - Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg

In the glass, the Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan from Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg reveals a bright purple color. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling it, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of plum and blackberry, rounded out by other fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, the Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan from Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely powerful texture. The finale of this well-maturing red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Pessac-Léognan, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by clay and gravel.

Vinification of the Vignobles Comtes von Neipperg Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan

The basis for the balanced Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan from France are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, clay and gravel. Without question, Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan is also determined by climate and viticultural style Pessac-Léognan. This French wine can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine, which is extraordinarily impressive. When the perfect physiological maturity is ensured, the grapes for Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes immediately enter the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant Clos Marsalette Rouge Pessac-Léognan is aged for another 18 months in oak barriques.
