More information about Chenin Blanc - David & Nadia

In the glass, the Chenin Blanc from the pen of David & Nadia shows a bright platinum yellow color. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of Chenin Blanc reveals notes of dried apricot. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as ginger and almond.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine Icon wine segment, this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly light texture. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of dried apricot. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay join in.

Vinification of the Chenin Blanc by David & Nadia

This balanced white wine from South Africa is made from the Chenin Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Western Cape. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. After hand harvesting, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in concrete and small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the David & Nadia Chenin Blanc

Enjoy this white wine from South Africa ideally moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompanying wine to asparagus salad with quinoa, omelet with salmon and fennel or vegetable salad with beetroot.
