This red wine shines in a deep dark, dense crimson to black in the glass. In the bouquet of Château Giscours 3ème Cru Classé Margaux by Château Giscours, distinctive smoke and roast notes of toast, black coffee and bonfire blend with sweet dark fruity aromas of blackcurrants, cassis liqueur, blackberries and blueberries. This is rounded off with fine, spicy hints of undergrowth and forest floor.
The palate appears very expressive, elegant, wide, juicy and full-bodied. The slightly spicy, dense and dark Cabernet fruit of the bouquet (blackcurrants, blackberries) as well as plenty of sweetly ripened tannin can be felt. The latter gives this wine its silky fleshy, seductive texture and firm structure. It is crowned by a long, perfectly balanced finish with a remarkable energy. Despite its comparatively low acidity, it has great ripening potential.
It is the ideal accompaniment to gently braised lamb shoulder, roast beef with Béarnaise sauce, tender wild ragout, roasted game birds (pheasant, duck, quail) with wild berry compote or even matured cheese.
