The winery Cecilia Beretta was founded in the 80s as an agricultural estate and facility for studies and experiments. It is the pride and joy of the Pasqua family. The name comes from the beautiful Villa Beretta, former property of Count Giuseppe Beretta, ruler of Verona, farmer and rural poet, built in the 17th century in Mizzole, west of Valpolicella.
The Pasqua family acquired the vineyards of Mizzole, Mattaranetta and San Felice at the end of the eighties. Particular attention was paid to these vineyards , especially after the Pasqua company had consolidated its position on the international markets and, as a result, important resources could be invested in the targeted improvement of quality.
The primary objective of the Cecilia Beretta winery is to bring out the strength and personality of the traditional wines of the Valpolicella and Soave area, the result of a centuries-old, unique viticultural culture and history of the terroir, coupled with a culture of innovation, in order to highlight the typical wine characteristics and features of the production area as an expression of its origins.
The vineyards extend over the hills of the Valpolicella area and on the volcanic soils of the hills around Soave. 54 hectares belong to the family estate, while another 35 are under contract and are cultivated exclusively for the winery. The winery, run by sisters Cecilia and Carlotta Pasqua, produces a limited selection of high quality reds, whites and rosés, with about 200,000 bottles a year, working completely independently and detached from the production of the company Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine.
