Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 - Tenuta di CastelGiocondo
Prices incl. VAT plus shipping costs
The lively red color of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG by Tenuta di Castelgiocondo by Frescobaldi is reminiscent of a luminous ruby with deep red nuances. A mixture of violets and wild berries, especially blackberries, characterize the bouquet. These are accompanied by spicy aromas of black pepper and cardamom, followed by balsamic notes of juniper and roasted aromas of coffee and hazelnuts. A gentle opening leads to a soft, full palate with a strong, elegant tannin framework and a lush body. In the long and warm finish of the CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino, however, tastes after spices and intense fruit notes.
This elegant, well-balanced top Brunello made of Sangiovese is of great structure and finesse and has been produced since the 18th century on the CastelGiocondo fortress above the winery of the Frescobaldi. The historical significance is also reflected in the label of the wine. The figure of the Cavaliere is adorned by a fresco by the famous Sienese painter Simone Martini.
