The Castelfeder family business is located in Kurtinig, in the south of South Tyrol. The founding father, Alfons Giovanett, had attended the accredited viticultural school in San Michele all' Adige from 1937 to 1940 and had already gained many years of experience as an oenologist before deciding to fulfill his dream of owning his own winery. His son Günther followed his path and took over the winery in 1989, since when he has managed Castelfeder, assisted by his wife Alessandra.
In recent years, Günther Giovanett has especially accompanied his children Ivan and Ines, who are also interested in viticulture, in order to be able to hand over to them more and more responsibility in production and sales and one day the management of the winery.

The soils here provide a good foundation for the growth of the vines, and the microclimatic conditions are also optimal due to the Mediterranean influences from the south and the Alps in the north, which protect against cold winds.
