In the American wine-growing region of Columbia Valley, the grapes for the Cabernet Sauvignon of Chateau Ste grow. Michelle.
In the glass this wine shines in a rich cherry red with purple highlights. The fruity bouquet pampers the nose with intense aromas of blackcurrants, juicy blackberries and ripe cherries - underlined with notes of dark spices, vanilla and filigree nuances of oak. On the palate, this American red wine is juicy and powerful with a concentrated fruit. The silky tannins are very well integrated into the body and harmonize wonderfully with the soft fullness. The long finale features fine fruit sweetness and spicy hints of liquorice.
Vinification of Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon
This intense Washington State red wine is vinified from 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot, 4% Syrah, 1% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot.
Theripely harvested grapes are destemmed and mixed with different yeast cultures, which maximizes the complexity of the future wine. During fermentation, the shell hat is gently pumped down so that color, aromas and soft, gentle tannins are extracted. The wine then matures for 16 months in American and French oak wooden barrels, 32% of which are new.
