The Burgenland in Austria
Burgenland is a rather small province in terms of size and population, but at the same time it is the second largest wine growing region in Austria after Lower Austria. On about 16,500 ha the local winegrowers produce about 750,000 hectolitres of wine - per year! The style of wine is largely considered fresh and fruity.
