The Metodo Classico Lugana from Cà Maiol comes into the glass with intense straw yellow colour and golden reflections. The nose of the Metodo Classico Lugana turns out to be extraordinarily complex with a large scented pot pourri that reminds of Galia melons, ripe apricots and peach melba in addition to citrus fruits. Spicy notes of well-tanned brioche, cumin and candied ginger are added.
On the palate, the Metodo Classico Lugana from Cà Maiol again shows a lot of yellow peach, but also hints of alpine herbs and lavender. In the prelude gentle and body-rich, this Lugana appears harmonious, lush and balanced. A juicy drinking flow and the finest barrique aromas perfectly round off the taste of this white wine from Lombardy.
Vinification of the Metodo Classico Lugana
This Lugana by Cà Maiol bears the name of the firstborn of the owner family. After harvesting the grapes in the oldest, poorer yielding vineyards of the estate, they are cold mashed and the must is fermented after pressing in a temperature-controlled manner. The Metodo Classico Lugana white wine then matures for 6 months in 225l French oak barriques. After bottling, the wine may harmonise for another six months before finally being placed on the market.
Food recommendation for the Cà Maiol Metodo Classico Lugana
Enjoy this powerful top wine from Lombardy with spicy dishes with light meat, with Alba truffles or just like that.
