More information about Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG - Padelletti

If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of the color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. When poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from Italy reveals wonderfully elegant and complex aromas of blackcurrant, prune and sour cherry, rounded off with vanilla and mineral notes from the barrel ageing.
This red wine from Padelletti is ideal for wine lovers who like it absolutely dry. The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 0.9 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety and dense. On the finish, this very storable red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region finally impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of blackcurrant and sour cherry. In the finish, mineral notes from the sand and clay-dominated soil are added.
Vinification of the Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
The basis for the powerful Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Italy is grapes from the Sangiovese grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and sandy soils in Tuscany. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of coarse and barely selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
