On the west coast of Sicily, on hills at 300 - 400 meters above sea level, Branciforti di Bordonaro 's vines grow. In the Trapani area, one of the most cultivated regions of Sicily, Branciforti focuses on its strength: traditional, high quality viticulture with respect for nature. The individual grape varieties are grown according to their characteristics on appropriate terroirs and vinification is specifically geared to them. A total of 300 hectares in the area of the town of Paceco are now planted. 570000 bottles are produced annually.
Branciforti Winery - Tradition on the island
in 1985 the history of Branciforti began with the Casa Vinicola Firriato by Salvatore and Vinzia die Gaetano. Although they wanted to produce traditionally, they also incorporated Australian production methods into the process. They are thus supported by Giuseppe Pellegrino, a well-known oenologist. Sustained growth has ensured that the group now exports to more than 30 countries. Regular awards from critics and magazines confirm the success.
Respect for the grape variety
The clay soils of Sicily provide a home here for several red grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola, while Grillo and Catarratto also grow. The autochthonous grape varieties are very much in focus, while some classics still provide variety:
In addition, a rosé cuvée and a sparkling wine are produced. In the cellar, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks; individual wines are also aged in barriques.
